About

I am James Crooke; a Web Applications Developer from Derby, working in Derby.

I was born in Derby in 1984 and spent most of my childhood in Washington, Tyne & Wear.  I moved back to Derby as a teenager and graduated from the University of Derby with a First Class BSc Hons Degree in Digital Entertainment (Computer Studies) in 2006.

I decided to follow a career in what I enjoy doing and what I’m good at; programming.  I’m a qualified Games Programmer but I found Web Development more of a healthy balance between programming and UI Design; which I also enjoy.  Ever since I can remember, I’ve been into creating things and making them work - I probably get that from my Dad, who can make anything work.

I’m quite busy these days with a few various projects, so you probably won’t see this site updated very often - but it’s here just to remind me of who I am and also to ensure nobody else takes my .co.uk address :)

If you ever want to hire me, get in touch.  If you want to host your site on one of my UK-based servers, prices start from £20…
